ADVANCED COURSE
PORT DOUGLAS

After earning your entry-level certification, you immediately have access to a wide range of incredible options to further your diving ability and experience. There are Specialty courses, which focus on a particular type of diving such as 'Deep Diving'; however, if you want to dip your toes into a few different pools, then the best way to experience a variety of dives, and learn a few of the basic skills for these, is by taking an Advanced

The training you'll go through on an Advanced course is very different from what you will have done on your Open Water. This is because instead of teaching you how to dive, the idea is to arm you with a whole new set of skills, techniques, and knowledge about various types of diving. Becoming an Advanced Diver is an exciting step, which will allow you to access an array of benefits, as well as improve your diving ability!

WHAT WILL
I LEARN?

Like most modern scuba diving courses which are modular, the Advanced course is broken down into 2 parts: Theory, and open-water training dives.

THEORY

10-12 HOURS TOTAL

Get ready for your open water training by completing the theory via the PADI or SDI eLearning platforms. Immerse yourself in the interactive presentations, which prepare you for your open water training dives at the Outer Great Barrier Reef!

These modules cover all of the theory and assessments, meaning no further tests are needed once you are here in Port Douglas.

REEF

2 DAYS/6 DIVES

5 dives are needed to earn your Advanced certification. 2 of these are the deep and navigation dives, then there are 3 other dives that can be chosen from the following:

  • boat

  • drift

  • peak performance buoyancy

  • Search and recovery

  • Fish Identification
