WHY GET

CERTIFIED?

Always wanted to know how it would feel to breathe underwater and see for yourself what life is like beneath the surface?...

The PADI Open Water Diver certification is the world’s most popular and widely recognised scuba diving licence. Becoming a certified diver is a highly rewarding experience and will literally open-up a whole new world of possibilities for travel, discovery and adventure.

The benefits of gaining your PADI Open Water Diver licence are numerous, including:

PADI, PADI dive centre port douglas, diving port douglas, scuba course

HOW DO I BECOME AN

OPEN WATER DIVER?

First, complete PADI 'eLearning' to lay the theoretical foundation, then once here in Port Douglas you'll spend 3 days under expert supervision, practicing all of the fundamental skills required to dive with a buddy, to a maximum depth of 18 metres, anywhere in the world!

4 open water dives are required for certification and we include 2 free extra dives on the last day of the course, for you to relax and explore the Great Barrier Reef while still under our guidance.

No previous experience with scuba is necessary as we will guide you through all of the course components  you can see below

10-12 HOURS TOTAL

Prepare for your pool and open water training by first learning about important scuba diving facts, principles and techniques.

PADI 'eLearning' is your digital classroom where you can watch, read, listen, and interact with the information; while studying in comfort, and at your own pace

Completing the Open Water Diver course online, is also a great "clean-green" option.

THEORY

1 DAY/8 HOURS

During the pool or 'confined water' training day, you will learn and master all of the skills, introduced during  the 'eLearning'/ online study portion.

From responding calmly and confidently to problems or emergencies; through to the ability to maintain efficient, "Coral-friendly" buoyancy control; Your highly experienced instructor will use all of their skill and knowledge to show you how to be in control while diving.

Our small classes also mean more individual attention and time for practice

SHORT ON TIME?

No problem! We also offer an introductory diving program  - 'Discover Scuba Diving'; which allows you to explore the amazing local Port Douglas reefs, without the commitment of completing prior study or pool training.

Or if you wanted to start on the path of becoming an Open Water diver, but preferred to use just 2 of your days while visiting the region; we can take you through to PADI 'Scuba Diver' which certifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.
